Holy Island

Tuesday 3rd August
£20 per person

Once we have all boarded the coach sit back and enjoy the scenery as we make our way to the picturesque village of Bamburgh in Northumberland. We will spend the morning here where you may want to explore the village, walk on the beach, or visit the Grace Darling Museum or Castle.
The RNLI Grace Darling Museum founded in 1938 tells the story of a young girl who risked her life to rescue others from certain death in a terrible storm. A Victorian gothic monument to Grace Darling can be seen in the churchyard of St. Aiden’s Church. Both are situated in the middle of the village.
A visit to the Castle, which has dominated the coastline for over 1,400 years, is well worthwhile. Learn about the Castle’s turbulent past, view porcelain, furniture and art or simply enjoy the breath-taking views over the Farne Islands & Lindisfarne, our next destination.
At 1.30pm  we will board the coach again and make our way over the causeway to spend the rest of the day on Lindisfarne (Holy Island). Here you may want to browse round the village or visit the castle before we leave at 4.30pm to make our way home.
